Route

Start from the car park 1.  Go through the ‘A’ frame barrier in the south-east corner by a wooden gate. Follow the path right diagonally down the slope. At the bottom turn left following the wide track out of the wood and alongside the overflow from the reservoir to the public road across the dam 2. Turn right and walk over the dam to a bridleway 3 and turn right. Walk along this bridleway towards Upper Midhope and turn right into the wood at the kissing gate 4. Follow the path through the woods down to the wall at the reservoir edge and along to the gate at 5. Go through the gate and along the track over the bridge to the stile on the left into the wood 6. Taking care, follow this rugged footpath through the wood to the track at 7 and on to Brook House Bridge. Cross the bridge and walk up the hill to the footpath on the left at point 8.

At this point the walk can be shortened by returning to the car park at point 1, following the northern shore of the reservoir.

For the full route turn left at 8, across the grassy area, cross the stream using the left hand bridge and follow the path up the slope through the wood then down hill to some steps and a gate in the fence 9. Go through the gate, turn right following the fence line round and up hill. Keeping the wood on the right and the river down below on the left continue along the fence line to a gate at 10. Go through the gate, keeping left follow the path up the steep hill. Turn right at the top, follow the footpath through the trees and go through a gate near an old barn. Turn right and follow the track passing the barn on the left to a ‘T’ junction with a lane 11. Turn left and in approx 25m, by a finger post, climb a stile in the wall and cross the field to a stone flag footbridge over a stream and up to a gate in a fence, go through the gate and follow the path to join a wider track 12. Go straight ahead to a well defined track on the right 13. Here turn right and follow this track for approx 700m to a junction with a further track at 14. (This track leads to Flouch car park if you turn left). Turn right and on to 15 here turn left before the decline and follow the footpath returning to the car park at point 1.
