Ingbirchworth

Type: Two Boots
Route Length: 1-2 miles

This less-strenuous route revolves around Ingbirchworth Reservoir, running next to the waters edge and passing through small areas of woodland. The path is unsurfaced and can be muddy so stout shoes or boots are recommended. The walk is 1.3 miles long.

Location
West of Ingbirchworth village, north of Penistone on the A629.

Access
Park in the lay-by opposite the public house near the corner on Wellthorne Lane point 1.

Route

From the lay-by head for the track in front at the bend in the road and follow the track as it drops down hill to a stile in the reservoir boundary wall at point 2. Turn right and follow the obvious path round the western end of the reservoir and over the boardwalk at point 3. Continue along the path through the woods keeping the reservoir on your left to the squeeze stile in the wall at point 4. Turn left and walk over the embankment along the pavement back to point 1.
