Baitings - short walk

Type: Two Boots
Route Length: 1-2 miles
 
This walk runs through the woodland surrounding Baitings Reservoir off the A58 and adjoining fields at Ripponden. There are excellent views of the surrounding moors and down the valley towards Ryburn Reservoir. The walk is 1.4 miles long and a podcast guide is available.

Access
There is a car park at Baitings Reservoir off the A58, Rochdale Road at the north-east corner of the reservoir point 1. Alternative parking can be found at Heights car park to the south of the reservoir, 1km from the A58. From this car park you need to take the path below the car park to joint the walk at Higher Wormald at point 4. The walk uses unsurfaced paths through woods and fields.

Route

From the car park 1 walk over the dam to point 5 and turn right through gate into wood. Follow woodland path to the road at point 7, turn right and cross the bridge to a gate at point 8 and enter the newly planted wood following the woodland path to point 9 and then on the roadside back to the car park.
