Yorkshire has an enormous amount on offer with sweeping valleys, tranquil waters and woodlands teeming with wildlife.

As one of the region’s biggest landowners we think it is only fair that such areas of natural beauty are made accessible to everyone.

To help you get out and get active we've introduced an assortment of exciting activities at sites across the county for adults and children of varying abilities.

Lace up your walking boots, pump up the tyres on that bike and brush the dust off that old fishing rod and come and experience the great Yorkshire outdoors.

Walkers Walking

Walking

Whether you simply fancy a gentle stroll around one of our picturesque reservoirs or a more adventurous cross-country trek then there’s something for you.

Each site has its own walk pack that you can easily print out and take along with you.  Each pack includes directions to the site, a summary of the walk, a list of facilities available, a detailed route map and route instructions.

Sites have been graded according to difficulty, but you can also search for walks based on their location, or walk length.

 Boot - green 1
- these walks are easy to complete and do not require special footwear.  Most of the walks are suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.

Boot - green 2 - these walks are mainly flat and on surfaced paths, however they can become muddy in wet weather.

Boot - green 3 - these walks include rough terrain and steeper gradients, making them unsuitable for young children and the infirm.

Boot - green 4 - these walks are for the experienced rambler, are at high altitudes and require good compass reading skills.  Walking boots, food and drink and appropriate clothing and waterproofs are essential.

Visit the easy access page for a choice of more walks, all of which are suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
